Merry Christmas!
Today is actually Christmas! Time has really flown by. J is working today, so I'm waiting for my mini apple pies to finish baking before I'm off to join the festivities at BM Jen's house.
I'd like to take a quick moment to wish all of my readers a fabulous holiday. I hope your days are filled with laughter and love!

The End of an Era
I kept meaning to post a song today, but I just haven't been in the mood. I've been trying to get in the spirit like crazy, but I've had a hard time.
My late step-father's mother had a stroke last Friday and has been in a coma ever since. Tonight, her life came to an end. I know she lived a long life of 96 years and that she's in a better place. It's just hard to come to grips with the idea of her being gone, especially since I wasn't able to say goodbye.
I was miraculously able to find a flight out of Steamboat that didn't cost an arm and a leg (just a leg), so I'll be traveling Sunday and coming back Tuesday. Pray for good traveling weather! It's supposed to snow both days.

Christmas Cheer #3
Every time she gets to the "and you, and you, and you" part, I can just picture the little guy's face! Love this movie.

More Christmas Cheer
I've decided I'm going to post a song a day until Christmas. Just to get us all in the spirit over the next TEN days. That's right... only 10 left!!

Christmas Music in the Air
For the past week, I've been listening to Christmas music on headphones at work. Something about it makes my day go by so much faster. The song that's been running through my head nonstop is one that I became familiar with during my Gap days in college. It has me bobbing my head.
Another Christmas song that has me singing along...
There's always the old classic that I used to listen to on record.
This remix of a classic has me giggling every time I hear it.
What fun Christmas songs get you moving?

Etsy Spotlight: Lauren Lowe Design
I stumbled upon this Denver-based Etsy seller, and I couldn't help posting Lauren Lowe Design's invitations. If you're looking for an eco-friendly stationer, you've come to the right place! Going green doesn't have to be plain. Here are a few of my favorites.

Brighter Day Even At -11
I know I said I'd be away a couple of days, but I woke up this morning determined to turn my frown upside-down, despite the negative temps outside. There's no use going through life with a bad attitude. I have grand plans to go to the gym at lunch today and hope that will give me a quick attitude adjustment.
On another subject... I am excited to say we ordered a new television. When ours died an untimely and premature death on Thanksgiving, I was more than a little perturbed. But, we found a great deal and used Ebates to get an ever better price. I'm telling you... I do not buy anything online before checking the site first. It's seriously the best way to save a little moolah! You'd be amazed what stores you can get cash back at-- like Billion Dollar Babes (another members only discount site), Gap, Old Navy, Target, Walmart, Overstock, Sephora, Ebay and Minted! A friend of mine buys all of her diapers online, so I finally talked her into going through Ebates first. She's already saved $30. I'm treating it like a savings account! I wish I'd known about the site eons ago. It would have saved me some wedding cash! The best part is that if you refer other people, you each get a little extra dough in your pocket.
This post would be rather boring without a little something extra, so I'm leaving you with a recipe I found here:

You're a Mean One, Mr(s). Grinch!
I feel like I've been a regular old Grinch lately... a Scrooge, even. I am in a major funk, and I'm really getting quite annoyed with myself. I've been trying to come up with blog posts for a week now, and I can't find a thing to talk about... so, rather than push my bad mood on you, I'm going to stay away for a few days and hope for a quick turn-around. I'm posting a pretty picture found on belle maison to boost my spirits. Love those chairs. I'm sure Erin of House of Turquoise would second that.

There's An App For That...
CDOT (the Colorado Department of Transportation) invested $8k to create an "app" for iPhones called "R-U-Buzzed?" that calculates your BAC (blood alcohol concentration). The app is free. The general idea seems to be a good one-- while the disclaimer does state it's only an estimate based on your weight, gender, time frame and alcohol consumption, it might keep a few "I've only had a couple" drivers off the road. The question is... will you be sober enough to be able to use it?

Happy Birthday to You!
Today, my little brothers turn 21. My, how time flies! (It makes me feel old!)

I remember the first time they came to visit me in CO-- just the two of them. They had just turned 14 (seven years ago!) They stayed for the week of Christmas and met J for the first time. I cannot believe they're already 21. So old, yet babies at the same time! Love you guys!

Our Little Town Made Jay Leno
Remember this post? Apparently, I'm not the only one that found it funny. Skip to 13:24 to see what Jay Leno thought. TOO hilarious.
